We handle bookings, contracts, and details.
At Contigo Yachts, we pair each client with the right yacht, crew, and destination for an unforgettable time on the water. We’re not here to upsell you—we’re here to help you find the trip that’s right for you, handled with care from the first call to the last sunset.
I’ve always been deeply connected to the ocean—it’s where I grew up exploring, sailing, diving, and eventually building my career. As incredible as boating is, the reality is that even the most responsible use of yachts, catamarans, and sailboats leaves a bigger environmental footprint than many people realize. From fuel and cleaning products to waste and everyday operations, it all adds up. And if we want future generations—and all the marine life we share this planet with—to enjoy a healthy, thriving ocean, we have to give back more than we take.
That’s why 5% of all Contigo Yachts profits go directly toward ocean conservation, supporting organizations like 4ocean, SeaThreads, and The Ocean Cleanup Project—teams actively removing plastic, restoring marine environments, and protecting the waters we love. And with every charter booking, each guest receives a 4ocean bracelet and a Contigo Yachts Whale Tale t-shirt made from 100% recycled ocean plastic, removing over a pound of plastic per guest from the ocean. It’s our way of offsetting the impact that comes with travel while helping keep our oceans clean, healthy, and full of life for generations to come.

I’m Rick Rodriguez — lifelong sailor, marine surveyor, yacht buying guide, and charter yacht broker. Since 2015, I’ve worked on yachts from 40 ft to 180 ft and built a business helping people find the right yacht, crew, and destination. Whether you’re booking a charter, buying your dream cruising boat, or need a professional survey, I bring real-world experience and a personal touch to every client.
A charter broker helps you find and book the right yacht for your vacation. We match your group’s preferences with available vessels, coordinate itineraries, and handle all contracts and logistics so your charter experience is seamless.
No — there is no additional cost to you when booking through a charter broker. Charter rates are set by the yacht owner and remain the same whether you book through a broker or directly through the yacht’s management company. Even if you were to somehow arrange the charter directly, the price would not be lower. In fact, using a broker often saves money by helping you avoid hidden costs, selecting the right contract terms, and ensuring you aren’t charged for services or provisions you don’t need. Beyond cost, a broker protects your interests, negotiates on your behalf, and provides support before, during, and after your charter.
Charter rates vary widely depending on the size of the yacht, destination, season, and amenities. Entry-level charters might start around $10,000 per week, while luxury crewed yachts can range from $30,000 to well over $100,000 per week.
This depends on the contract terms:
Plus Expenses Charters (Mediterranean or APA Terms): The base rate covers the yacht and crew. Additional costs such as fuel, dockage, provisions, local taxes, and special requests are paid through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), usually 25–35% of the base rate.
In nearly all cases, items like dockage, special event fees, national park permits, and premium wines or spirits are extra.
For peak seasons (holidays, summer in the Med, winter in the Caribbean), we recommend booking 6–12 months in advance. For off-season or last-minute charters, availability may still be possible closer to your travel dates.
We arrange charters worldwide — popular destinations include the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Pacific Northwest, and Alaska. We’ll help you choose a location that best fits your style of cruising.
Options range from sailing catamarans and monohulls to luxury motor yachts and superyachts. We’ll help you select the vessel type that best fits your group size, comfort preferences, and budget.
Yes. While weather and local regulations may affect routing, your charter can be customized to your interests — whether that’s island-hopping, diving, fishing, or simply relaxing in secluded anchorages.
Gratuity is customary and typically ranges from 10–20% of the base charter fee, depending on the level of service received. This is discretionary and always at your comfort level.
Safety is always the priority. Your captain may adjust the itinerary to avoid unsafe conditions, but your crew will ensure you still have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
